Furthering its commitment to enhance opportunities for those in their early stages of Beckett scholarship, the Samuel Beckett Society has announced a new initiative to promote the work of emerging scholars and researchers. The full text of the board’s statement reads:
The executive board of the Samuel Beckett Society and the editor of The Beckett Circle seek contributions for a new peer-reviewed article section in our biannual publication. We are particularly interested in publishing the work of early career scholars (ECR), who are completing their educations or have done so within the last five years. With this focus on emerging scholars, published articles will range between 2,500 and 3,000 words (that is, about the length of a typical conference presentation). Contributions may touch on any facet of Beckett’s life and work, though priority will be given to scholarship that addresses new connections and emerging perspectives. Selected articles will be given the full peer-review process, including assessment and feedback from members of the executive board.
Submissions should be in the form of an abstract of approximately 250 words which should be sent to beckettsociety@gmail.com to be received no later than 15 December 2024. An accompanying biography of 100 words should be attached separately.
